CBR: NFL Conference Championship Weekend
It`s Thursday, so you know what that means. It’s time to get in the lab for a weekend of massive gambling, and it all starts, as all good gambling weekends start, in the NFL. In what is sure to be an unreal atmosphere in Philly, I am all over the home team. It just makes too much sense. There is just no way in my mind that a Brock Purdy led team can go into Philly and not just beat a stacked eagles football team, but an equally formidable opponent in the hostile Philly crowd. The homefield advantage is just one of many advantages that the birds have coming into Sunday`s NFC Championship tilt. The Eagles enter the game 7-0 ATS in playoff games as the #1 seed. Also, the eagles have shown themselves to very capable against the very elite defenses in the NFL, of which the 49ers have one . They have posted a 7-0 record ATS when facing teams who have a defense allowing 18.5 points per game. This is going to be all Philly, all the way. Give me Philly, -2.5.
Now, as a bills fan this next game is tough to even think
about, much less handicap. But for my readers, I`d walk on broken glass. So
with that being said, the line is sitting at KC -1, so it’s a pick`em and I am picking Patrick Mahomes. This guy doesn’t
lose in big spots often and its not going to happen this year. To give some
more foundation to my bet, here are some incredibly impressive trends. The Chiefs
are 8-2 ATS against opponents who are coming off of playing the Bills. They are
also 5-2 ATS when a favorite of 7 points or less. Finally, the chiefs are 5-1 ATS
when coming off 6 or more days of rest. Chiefs -1, put your mortgage on it.
